WBWCD coordinated the formation of the Weber River Basin Group. The creation of this group was to facilitate the coordination and participation of all activities that impact water quality in the watershed. The Weber River Basin Group was first organized in April of 2002. The organization chart is pictured below. The Technical Advisory Committee, which is made of many federal, state and local agencies, as well as private land owners, has met regularly since that organization. Updates on all activities in the watershed are discussed and acted upon if necessary. The publication of the Weber River Watershed Restoration Action Strategy was completed in December of 2003, which outlines the goals and objectives of the group and will be a great asset. A presentation is also being produced that can be taken and presented to County Commissioners, City Counsels, and planning commissions. This will help educate the regulators and the public on the importance of preserving and enhancing the water quality in the Weber River Basin.
The Weber River Group has been a great value for all involved within the watershed. Coordination of activities has never been so well defined and involved.
